Contract Disassociation Request
Complete the Disassociation Request Form to request the termination of an existing vendor contract or business relationship.
Purpose
The ECC ensures WWU’s contracts with private industry align with ethical and socially responsible standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Contract Evaluations
- Reviews contracts flagged by WWU community via the Disassociation Request Form.
- Socially Responsible Standards
- Assesses contracts against the Supplier Code of Conduct and ACSRI standards.
- Recommendations
- Advises the Vice President for Business and Financial Affairs on whether to continue or terminate contracts.
- Ethical Procurement Oversight
- Ensures compliance with:
- Fair Labor Association standards
- Fair Labor Standards Act
- NAEP Code of Ethics
- Environmental, labor, and human rights laws
- Ensures compliance with:
Committee Composition
- Chair: Assistant VP for Finance and Business Services
Members
- 2 Procurement Specialists
- 2 Students (Associated Students appointees)
- 2 Faculty (Faculty Senate appointees)
- 2 At-large members (appointed by VP)
Terms
- Non-student members: 2 years
- Student members: 1 year, renewable up to 2 terms
Meetings
- Held October–May, at least once per academic year
- Convened when a contract meets review criteria
- Open to members and invited guests
- Final recommendations go to the Vice President, who may consult the President
Evaluation Criteria
- Contract misalignment with ethical purchasing standard STN-U5348.01A
- Broad university support for termination (e.g., endorsements, petitions)
Voting & Outcomes
Requires a two-thirds vote to recommend action

- Deny the request
- Recommend review
- Recommend termination
Sponsors may resubmit proposals in future years
Reporting & Transparency
All reviewed contracts and outcomes will be posted on ECC website
